Outlook Express is still available on Windows 10, but it is removed with every major upgrade. Microsoft prefers that you use one of its other email clients. We demonstrate workarounds and other options.

Outlook Express is a basic email client that comes preinstalled on Windows 98 to Server 2003. With the release of Vista, Microsoft officially discontinued the product, albeit it can still use with several workarounds. However, we do not encourage doing so because if Outlook Express is detected, Microsoft will actively remove it from your PC.

Using Outlook Express on Windows 10/7/8/11

Outlook Express On Windows 10 is no longer supported and hasn’t been for over a decade. Microsoft is so adamant about it that whenever the Windows version makes a significant update, it will immediately delete the program from your system. The fact that Microsoft uses forced automatic upgrades to regulate what programs you can execute is a contentious issue, but it’s unlikely to change.

We recommend that you abandon Outlook Express. It’s an old client that’s been replaced by better ones, which we’ll go into later. There is, however, a workaround if you insist on using Outlook Express.

Work as XP has created a version of Outlook Express that will run on any recent Windows version. A license key will set you back $20 and can be obtained after you’ve downloaded and installed the program. Fidolook, an extension that offers functionality for message headers, templates, and other customization, is also supported.

When your system is updated, Windows versions will still delete this program. As a result, you’ll have to utilize their Updates Disabler software as well. This enables you to turn off Windows Update completely.

Is it Still Relevant to Install Outlook Express on Windows 10/7/8/11?

If you truly want to get Microsoft Outlook Express for Windows 10/7/8/11 for free, keep in mind that it’s no longer available on the Microsoft website. Because Microsoft no longer supports regular Outlook Express bug and security fixes, this is the case. If you download Outlook Express on Windows 10/8 from a third-party site, your Windows operating system will delete it via forced automatic upgrades. Additionally, your system may have some major problems.

As a result, we advise you to discontinue using Outlook Express, as it is now an out-of-date email client that has been replaced by a number of better Outlook Express competitors, such as:

  • Microsoft Outlook is a part of the Microsoft Office Suite that allows users to send, receive, and organize emails, as well as manage their address books, tasks, and calendars. It’s an excellent email client for managing many emails and large address lists.
  • eM Client is a Windows-based mailing service that allows users to consolidate their inbox, contacts, calendars, and pending tasks into a single location. This email client is available for personal use at no cost.
  • Thunderbird is a multi-platform open-source email client that can handle both email and newsgroups. It supports IMAP and POP email accounts and is one of the most sophisticated and user-friendly email systems available.
  • Gmail is a Google-provided free email service that includes all of the finest features of traditional email. It offers a vast storage space that shares with Google Photos and Drive. Its user interface is available in 38 languages, making it popular all around the world.

Though Microsoft Outlook Express accomplished its function admirably, it is debatable if Outlook Express on Windows 10/8/7/11 should use in the future. Microsoft has not only abandoned it, but they will aggressively delete it from your PC. All of Express’s capabilities are available in other email programs that operate better on contemporary platforms.
